Alhamdulillah, on 1st June 1996 - twenty-five years ago, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) was established in IIUM. KAED has pioneered the integration of Islamic values and the Tawhidic educational approach into the built environment education. All of us in KAED would like to record our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the effort during that period. We are looking forward to your continuous support as we strive to achieve the essence of our stated vision and missions. May Allah guide us to advance the built environment education and profession, for the benefit of the Ummah and humanity at large.

The concept of ITQAN, an Arabic word, refers to the elements of quality and perfection. It means "to arrange and dispose of things in a scientific and artistic way in order to obtain the most perfect results" (Shuriye, 2009).
KAED will continue to strive for quality and excellence in education and research. Our vision is to be a centre of excellence for the built environment that promotes integration and Islamization of knowledge for the benefit of the Ummah. We are committed to serve the Ummah by producing ethical, competent and versatile graduates by applying the Tawhidic approach.
